The academic advisor isn’t great at responding so keep that mind (personally don’t think she’s real) ! But the instructors are amazing !! I feel like I’ve learned a lot and they answer all my questions!! Read less

I had the pleasure of meeting the instructors, Ms. Thai and Ms. Shajuana, at this Medical Assistant school, and they were absolutely great! I truly appreciate their wonderful hospitality and the warm, welcoming environment they created. It’s clear they are passionate about what they do and dedicated to pouring into their students. I had an amazing experience at Houston Medical Assistant School! This program truly prepares you for success, and I’m so grateful I chose to attend. The hands-on training, supportive environment, and real-world skills we learned made such a difference in my confidence as a future medical assistant. Ms. Shajuana and Ms. Thai were honestly the best part of the class. They took out extra time and went the extra mile to make sure we fully understood the material and felt confident in our skills. No matter how many questions we had, they were patient, encouraging, and genuinely cared about our success. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and about helping their students grow. I would absolutely recommend Ms. Shajuana, Ms. Thai, and the entire school to anyone wanting to become a medical assistant. If you’re looking for a program that supports you, challenges you, and truly wants to see you succeed, this is the place to go! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read less

I have been in this program for 11 weeks, and one thing I can say for sure is that the instructors teach you everything you need for hands-on practice. The necessary resources are provided as well. However, the real experience begins when you start your externship. Finding an externship is your own responsibility, which can be tiring and challenging. Read less

I started my class in October and test out in February. I didn’t realize there was such a broad scope of education to become a medical assistant but my instructors (Ms. Nina, Ms. Ronda and Ms. Keisa) have made my journey such a great experience. They’re knowledgeable and dynamic in their approach to teaching and supporting us; they never make you feel less than or stupid. I’m very grateful I ended up with the instructors and some of the classmates I’m with. I’d definitely recommend this course, although I do feel like the instruments/equipment needed to be purchased should be disclosed prior to the class being paid for. Also, the student advisor, Peyton, doesn’t communicate well and I feel like she needs to work on how better to support students considering she holds the student advisor title. Read less

Frequently Asked Questions

We don't accept financial aid, but we have some pretty great reasons why! The founder of our school, Dr. Ince, wanted to create an opportunity for those who desire to enter the field. He believed that students deserve not only a great education but also an affordable and convenient option. Rather than making our school more expensive in order to allow for financial assistance, Dr. Ince chose to keep tuition affordable, giving our students the opportunity to graduate with little to no student loan debt. If none of our payment plan options work for you, please give us a call. We are more than happy to customize a plan!

Yes, you can pay by check. Checks must be sent two weeks before your start date, and you must call our admissions team to provide a tracking number. They should be addressed to Zollege Management Inc., 7701 N. Lamar Blvd, Suite 300, Austin, TX 78752.

The time it takes to become a Medical Assistant varies between schools and certification programs. Our curriculum is 18-weeks long and fully prepares students to start working as a medical assistant.

Houston Medical Assistant School is a hands-on learning program. We take a different approach from traditional education. Our classes take place in a medical office rather than a classroom, with a hands-on component to every part of our course. Classes begin with a lecture and discussion, but most of the class time is spent in labs learning the essential techniques of medical assisting. When our students graduate and begin their career, they feel at home in a medical office.

As a newly hired Medical Assistant, your employer will expect you to know the basic skills of medical assisting. Those fundamental skills are exactly what we focus on teaching our students. Our custom-designed curriculum sets students up for success by covering precisely what doctors will expect them to know.

When you graduate from any medical assisting school you receive a certificate of completion. Many students ask if they can expect to make a higher starting salary if they attend a longer program. The starting salary for a Medical Assistant does not depend on how long you spent in school or how much you paid for your schooling.

Medical Assistants perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to assisting the doctor, carrying out clinical tasks, and completing administrative work.

Medical assistants may perform many different clinical duties including taking and recording vital signs, preparing patients for examination, and drawing blood. Administrative tasks are equally important in the medical assisting field; medical assistants are also in charge of scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, working with insurance files, and billing.

Assistants are responsible for making patients feel at ease while also preparing them for treatment. During medical visits, assistants often work alongside the doctor.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 12 percent from 2024 to 2034, much faster than the average for all occupations. For more information, please visit the Bureau of Labor Statistics website.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual wage for medical assistants was $44,200 as of May 2024. For more information, please visit the Bureau of Labor Statistics website.

Benefits vary by practice and should be discussed with the hiring practice.
